How to watch Fever at Sky: Slumping Chicago aims to end skid vs. Indiana

How to view the Fever against the Sky: Struggling Chicago seeks to break losing streak versus Indiana

The Fever and Sky are set to clash for the third time this season — with this being the second matchup at the United Center — this Sunday afternoon. Chicago is facing a challenging period, entering the game on a four-game losing streak and potentially missing All-Star forward Angel Reese.

Indiana is in urgent need of victories to keep its playoff hopes alive while Caitlin Clark is out of action. Will they be the next team to hand the Sky a significant defeat?

Reese was absent from Chicago’s last game — a 95-57 defeat against the Seattle Storm — due to a back injury. She is currently listed as day to day ahead of Sunday’s game against the Fever, but the Sky are hopeful for a positive update as tipoff approaches. Reese has been on

Chicago's 38-point defeat to the Storm marked its most significant loss of the season, narrowly surpassing a 37-point setback against the Atlanta Dream that occurred just prior to the All-Star break. Second-year center Kamilla Cardoso was the standout performer with 13 points and 13 rebounds, yet the Sky struggled with 19 turnovers compared to only 14 assists, managing to hit 21 of their 62 field-goal attempts. The absence of Ariel Atkins (leg) was also a significant factor.

This year, Chicago has experienced less effective outings, with two of those occurring against the Fever. In a 93-58 loss in Indianapolis in mid-May, the Sky converted just over 29 percent of their shots, followed by an 18-for-56 shooting performance in a 27-point loss in early June.

Clark was unavailable for the latter defeat, and she has been ruled out for Sunday’s matchup as she deals with a groin injury. Indiana’s star guard currently has no set timeline for her return, which could jeopardize the team's playoff position with fewer than 20 games remaining.

Fortunately, the Fever still have other All-Stars to rely on during her absence. Kelsey Mitchell (21 points) led Indiana to an 80-70 victory over the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday, while Aliyah Boston has frequently been the top performer on the court, even when Clark is present.

There is not much cause for concern regarding Indiana in this situation, but Chicago is running out of time. With a record of 7-17, the Sky would need to make a significant turnaround in the latter half of the season to have a chance at the playoffs, and there is little evidence to indicate that this team can achieve such a turnaround.
