Torrential rain in Islamabad and Rawalpindi has led to significant disruptions at Islamabad International Airport, causing numerous flight delays and cancellations.


As reported by airport officials, British Airways flight BK2160 experienced a three-hour delay, while a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight to Dubai was postponed by one hour. Additionally, a private airline's flight to Karachi faced a two-hour delay. Other flights heading to Jeddah, Doha, Dubai, Muscat, Riyadh, and Baku encountered delays of up to one hour.

Rain Emergency Declared in Rawalpindi After Non-Stop Rain in Twin Cities


The airport’s official flight inquiry portal indicated that six flights to and from Islamabad were cancelled. The Islamabad-Skardu route was particularly impacted, with PIA’s PK-451 and PK-452, along with AirSial’s PF-121 from Karachi, being cancelled.


Continuous rain and poor visibility resulted in the suspension of all flights to Skardu for the day.


In total, over 15 domestic and international flights experienced significant delays, some lasting several hours.
